The City of Sacramento has made substantial strides in addressing homelessness, as indicated in the latest data report for the week of May 12-18, 2025. A total of 871 calls related to unsheltered individuals were logged via 311 customer service, showcasing the urgent community need for immediate support. Through its Incident Management Team (IMT), Sacramento successfully closed 691 of these calls. This dramatizes the ongoing efforts to remedy conditions affecting the homeless population, whether by ensuring compliance or resolving issues directly.
Outreach Efforts Yield Positive Results
Outreach is a critical component in addressing homelessness, and during this week, the City enrolled 73 individuals in local databases that facilitate their connections with available shelters and services. Furthermore, 30 individuals found refuge in either the Roseville Road campus or the Outreach and Engagement Center (OEC). Despite this progress, it’s important to note the shortage of resources; as of May 20, there were no available Pallet homes or trailers. With only 13 OEC spaces available and an average of 19 openings in City-funded shelters, it's evident that demand continues to exceed the supply.

In addition to outreach, the City undertook significant cleanup efforts, collecting an impressive 167,200 pounds of trash during the week. This cleanup not only improves public spaces but also enhances the living conditions of those temporarily occupying these areas.
